21st British Juggling Convention

Wednesday 26th - Sunday 30th March / the Dome, Doncaster

Over already

BJC 2008 is over and gone - thanks everybody for coming along. We all had a ball and we hope you did too. See you next year!

T-shirt orders

For those of you who put in orders for BJC clothing after we sold out - the order has now gone to the printers, and we expect the items to be posted out soon.

The BJC's birthday party

We're hoping to make this year's British Juggling Convention into a celebration both of the coming of age of the BJC, and of all the BJCs of years gone by. Expect a birthday party! Expect a couple of nostalgic moments looking back over 21 BJCs past. Expect, as usual, a fantastic public show, plenty of opportunity for juggling, plenty of entertainment, and a cosy bar with comfy sofas in which chilling out, playing games and knitting are the order of the day. Plus, our venue has a swimming pool (with slides!), an ice rink and a climbing wall.

Come Dancing

On Wednesday and Thursday evenings we will be featuring swing dancing lessons, leading up to an evening of dancing with our very own Gramophone DJ, spinning classic swing records.

Helping out

There's no better way to feel like part of the BJC than to spend an hour or two helping out with some of the many and varied tasks that need to be done around the convention. Remember, the BJC is run for the juggling community, by volunteers, which is why the prices are so low! If you've never been to a BJC before and you're worried that you won't know anybody, why not spend an hour or two on the registration desk and meet a whole bunch of new people! Mail us at volunteers@bjc2008.co.uk or just get in touch on the day to see what needs doing.

About the BJC

The British Juggling Convention is a yearly gathering of all kinds of circus performers, from hobbyists to professional performers, from jugglers to balloon modellers and unicyclists. Some people come hoping to learn new skills or polish old ones. Many people come to chill out in a juggly atmosphere, drink beer and enjoy the various shows and entertainment. It's up to you!

BJC 2008 is working in partnership with the Arts Council for England, Swamp Trust and Doncaster Markets and Town Centre.
